What is LASER hair removal?

Laser hair removal is the latest and most advanced technology available for the treatment of unwanted hair. It generates a beam of concentrated and high intensity light which targets the pigment in the hair causing destruction. Since it can clear large areas of hair in a short period of time, laser hair removal is very cost effective.

How does it work?

Laser hair removal works by creating a localized heating of the selective target (melanin in the hair), as it is attracted to pigment. In doing so, the laser light source is absorbed and penetrates the follicle which vaporizes the pigment, disabling multiple follicles at a time, significantly impeding regrowth. It does so without heating the surrounding skin tissue making it a very comfortable treatment. What can I expect?

During your initial consultation, the skin, hair and any medical conditions you may have will determine the best possible program for you! Your laser treatment may last from several minutes up to an hour depending on the size of the area being treated. Since laser only affects hairs in the active growing phase, more than one treatment is required. Following your treatment, the hairs will fall out 1-2 weeks later. Your subsequent appointments will be scheduled approximately 6 weeks apart for optimal results, until the desired results are achieved. Typically 4-8 treatments are required with the Light Sheer Duet.

Is if safe?

Yes, the LightSheer Diode is FDA and Health Canada approved for permanent hair reduction. It can be used on all areas of the body with the exception of the eye area.

Are all Lasers created equally?

There are a vast number of marketing claims regarding the effectiveness of lasers in hair removal.
